New Amsterdam Theatre

This theatre is one of the most outstanding examples of Art Nouveau design in the United States. Built in 1903, this 1,800-seat theatre is a New York City landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is home to Disney's major musical theatre productions and is equipped to accommodate their demanding technical needs. One of the design team's greatest challenges was to integrate modern performance technology into a beautiful classic theatre without interfering with sightlines or the intricately restored finishes.
