The new Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music forms an integral part of the National University of Singapore's music faculty. The three-story building integrates state-of-the-art facilities for training professional musicians and for visiting artists, including an intimate 600-seat shoe-box concert hall with adjustable acoustics, intended for classical music performances, chamber music and symphony orchestra concerts. Other facilities include about 45 practice rooms, 30 teaching studios, 8 ensemble rooms and one of the largest recording studios in Asia. The Conservatory opened in October 2006.
