The Koka Booth Amphitheatre is set in a beautiful pine forest at the edge of Symphony Lake in Regency Park. The open-air pavilion can accommodate a 100-piece orchestra. A balcony located upstage can hold a chorus of 90 or serve as an orchestra location for other forms of theatrical presentations. The natural seating slope seats up to 7,000. There are state-of-the-art sound, stage lighting, and projection systems. The project received a 2001 Award for Design from the Boston Society of Architects, an Honor Award from the United States Institute of Technology in 2002, and several AIA awards.
