The new performing arts complex on Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts consists of a 2,500-seat concert hall and a 650-seat flexible theatre housed under an impressive 150-foot high glass arch. On the Perelman Theater's stage is a large turntable, half of which contains a permanent orchestra shell which can be rotated upstage to reveal a fully equipped 40' wide proscenium theatre. The orchestra seating can be lowered by elevator and stored in the basement, allowing the space to be reconfigured for arena, thrust, or flat floor presentations.
