The Hong Kong Cultural Centre was opened in 1989 with three major performance venues. We were appointed in 1980 to provide preliminary design and technical services for a 1,500-seat lyric theatre, a 1,600-seat concert hall, and a 500-seat studio theatre for the center.
Then in 2000 the Grand Theatre's computerized hydraulic flying system was suspended from service due to obsolete parts and Y2K non-compliance problems. Theatre Projects was commissioned to assist the Government of Hong Kong with upgrading, enhancing and replacing the stage flying system. The commissioning of the equipment was completed in 2005.
