The Peepul Centre is a flagship community-led regeneration project in Leicester. The center, which attracts around 220,000 users a year, aims to promote sustainable development and encourage multi-cultural activities within the ethnically diverse local community. The building has been purpose designed to host an innovative range of holistic services, including arts and culture, training and enterprise, and children's development facilities. The £16 million center incorporates a 350-seat auditorium which can be configured for a variety of events including cinematographic performances, for which it is equipped with state of the art facilities. The auditorium is also fitted with tilting raked seating. This feature is unique to the center and is believed to be the first of its kind in the UK.
