Petrus Bertschinger
Consultant
London office

Petrus is a project manager specializing in stage systems and performance operations. He also brings to the company an extensive knowledge of backstage and back-of-house planning.

Petrus has more than 25 years of practical theatre experience from assistant stage manager to production manager. In that time he has worked with an extensive and diverse range of venues, companies, directors and producers. He has been production manager for all the early works of Matthew Bourne, five years as technical director of Covent Garden Festival, and planning and operations director for Unicorn Theatre for Children, responsible for delivering their new theatre building in London (for which Theatre Projects were the theatre consultants).

Petrus went to Westminster School before gaining a higher national diploma in stage management at Central School of Speech and Drama (CSSD), where he continues to be involved as a mentor for technical students during their final year. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is a member of the Association of British Theatre Technicians (occasionally sitting on the Theatre Planning Committee) and the Production Managers Forum. He is a technical manager for the Theatres Trust conferences on sustainable theatre and regularly writes for the technical pages of The Stage.
