A theatre architect, Mark specializes in auditorium and stage design for performance spaces worldwide for all forms of drama, dance, and music. His range of experience includes theatres, opera houses, orchestral concert halls, conservatories, and conference halls.
Mark's designs are featured in many of the world's newest iconic buildings - often the cultural hub of major regeneration projects. He also has extensive expertise in working within existing buildings to produce innovative designs that provide dynamic solutions to clients' needs and sustainable theatres. He achieves this by working closely with the client and architect from inception to completion ensuring continuity and integrity of design.
Mark's drawings illustrate the British Council book Making Space for Theatres: British Architecture and Theatre since 1958. He has appeared as a guest speaker in several cities including Shanghai, Taipei, Oslo, and London. Mark is a RIBA-accredited architect, having studied at Portsmouth School of Architecture. He joined Theatre Projects in 1992 and was appointed a director in 1999.
