Conference & Performance Center in India

Theatre Projects Consultants has recently been appointed to work with international partners SOBHA, a Bangalore-based development group, and Eclipse Staging Services, a Dubai-based technical services company, to design conference and performance facilities at the headquarters of Infosys Technologies Ltd in Bangalore, India. Infosys provides consulting and IT services to clients throughout the world.

The project involves the design and specification of a 3,500-seat conference theatre, a 1,000-seat conference theatre, a 2,100-seat Banquet Hall, and five 100-seat seminar and presentation rooms, most of which will incorporate the latest technological conferencing capabilities including:

• Video Conferencing
• Simultaneous Translation
• Assisted Listening Systems
• Event Lighting and Sound Systems
• Broadcast facilities
• Mechanical Stage Systems
• Adjustable Acoustics.

As well as being the corporate headquarters for the firm, the new venue is to incorporate facilities for use by the local community. Therefore, the public spaces, foyers, and back-of-house areas will be designed to allow for flexibility, movement, and distribution of people during peak times.

This project is being fast-tracked to meet the extraordinary growth of Infosys; the entire facility should be designed and built within the next 12-18 months. When complete, Infosys will have one of the best-equipped auditoriums in Asia.
