Theatre Projects is pleased to celebrate with Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre as its production of August: Osage County brings home 5 Tony Awards. TPC was the theatre consultant during the construction of their current home and was involved with the programming, design, planning, and equipment design and specification.

Steppenwolf's Tony wins included Best Play, Best Director of a Play (Anna Shapiro), Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play (Deanna Dunagan), Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play (Rondi Reed), and Best Scenic Design (Todd Rosenthal). In addition to the Tony wins, author Tracy Letts received the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for drama.

The theatre was designed in collaboration with Steppenwolf designer Kevin Rigdon. The two-level, 500-seat theatre is modeled on the classic American playhouse with a single balcony and side boxes stepping down toward the apron stage. It opened in 1991.
