John Coyne designs Cav/Pag for San Diego Opera
April 17, 2008

John Coyne, principal at Theatre Projects, designed the sets for San Diego Opera's production of the double-bill opera, Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci (Cav/Pag.)

Cavalleria Rusticana

His artistic vision was a clear contribution to the overwhelming success of the first Cav/Pag at San Diego Opera in almost 30 years. The set design of an aptly rustic Sicilian village by John Coyne was beautiful and innovative, filling the stage without crowding.

I Pagliacci

This is John's second production with the San Diego Opera (Simon Boccanegra, 2005).

The production ran from March 22- April 2. To read more about the production follow any link below.
